Healthy WashCo Announces AODA Prevention Mini-Grant Opportunity

On behalf of the Washburn County Board of Supervisors, Healthy WashCo is now accepting applications for 2025 Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse/Use (AODA) Prevention mini-grants. Community groups/organizations looking to promote family strength and stability to develop healthy communities in Washburn County are encouraged to apply for this funding.

Since 1987, the Washburn County Board of Supervisors has allocated funds for healthy substance-free opportunities/activities. For 2025, $10,000 was assigned to the Washburn County Community Alliance for Prevention (CAP) to continue this work. Projects funded in the past have included youth events, summer programming, staff training, and community presentations. Other examples of eligible projects are drug/alcohol-free activities or events, including but not limited to activities for adults and youth, educational materials, personnel training for AODA prevention, and printed materials, including posters, t-shirts, bracelets, etc.

Each project is required to convey a message of substance abuse prevention. To be considered for funding, please complete the online application with a maximum request of $1,000 per organization. Completed proposal applications must be received electronically by March 17, 2025.  Award notices will be released in early April 2025.  Selected recipients may receive partial to full funding.

This is an excellent opportunity to be creative in prevention efforts to protect our youth, strengthen our community, and promote the health of our communities in Washburn County.
